    ImageChampaign County Jail, 201 E. Main St., Urbana. Crowds toured the new Champaign County Jail and Sheriff’s Residence, March 1905. The residential portion fronted Main Street and the jail’s west entrance faced the courthouse. The structure was threatened with demolition several times and was finally torn down to make room for courthouse additions in the spring of 2000.
