Stephen Dennis was a farmer in Greenville, Bond County, Illinois. William A. Dennis lived in Virginia.

The digitized content contains a letter Stephen Dennis wrote to his grandfather in 1850. The letter describes family matters and challenges of the past three crop seasons, including weather and the transition from farming corn to farming wheat.
