Description
One letter from Irish lawyer and Celtic scholar Whitley Stokes to Helen Allingham, writing to correct Helen on the matter of publications by the Irish scholar William Maunsell Hennessy. Stokes writes Hennessy's paper was on the "Vision of Mac Conglinne," and includes a translation which was published in "Fraser's Magazine" in September 1873. Stokes also mentions he was unaware that Stanford suppressed Petrie's name as the collector of the Irish airs, and urges Helen to make sure of the facts before publishing anything on the subject.
