One letter from British painter Joseph Walter West to Helen Allingham, thanking Helen for the painting she sent, which arrived Saturday. West shares both he and his family will enjoy it. West also notes Helen appears to have a forgiving spirit and has overlooked his obstinacy over not "letting out," his girls' dresses in the drawing at the old society. West's letter is written on monogrammed paper, containing the image of a boat and the name West. The monogram contains a decorative initial for the letter 'D'.
