Description
One letter from Henry Allingham to his mother Helen Allingham, updating her on his experiences after arriving in New York. Henry describes an accident in which his vehicle, after alerting a pedestrian, knocked the man over. Henry details his experience with the police and a judge, who let him go. Henry provides a drawing of the road where the incident occurred. Henry describes his job as a machinist, getting paid $2 1/4 per day. He also writes that he has found lodgings for $4 a week, and is lodging with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Morse. He explains he is near Ithaca and will be taking classes during "Junior week." The letter is labeled care of Mrs. Cornelia Creque.
