In the political cartoon, a larger-than-life Lincoln is depicted as coming to Jefferson Davis in a nightmare, having just won reelection in the 1864 presidential election. Davis's nightmare image of Lincoln, carrying a copy of the "latest Union majorities," promises Davis that he will be there for "four years longer." |
