Treatment Notes
The black velvet was gently surface cleaned using a soft bristled brush (covered with nylon) and a Nilfisk vacuum. Green patina slightly rubbed off onto nylon. An archival box was created to house the object. The object is placed on a stand, created from ethafoam and covered with archival E-flute board, that is angled at approximately 30 degrees. The stand sits inside a chloroplast tray. All four sides of the tray fold down for easy access to the stand and there is a handle to easily pull the tray out of the box. The tray slides into the box, which is made out of honeycomb board and book cloth. The front and top of the box can be pulled back in order to see the object without handling it.
