Contains note from William Allingham, indicating that the snake should be smaller, and the elf should be further out. On the verso side of the second page, contains a sketch of a baby resting its head on a pillow. Poem and finalized illustrations are published in Allingham's book Rhymes for the Young Folk (1886).
