Description | A detail from a large photograph made by F. D. Richards in Philadelphia on February 22, 1861, at a flagraising at Independence Hall at sunrise at which the President-elect spoke briefly, leaving before the exercises were over. Mr. Lincoln may be seen directly above the single star to the left in the flag draped over the railing of the platform. Another photograph was made of the group after Mr. Lincoln left. |
