One letter from American abolitionist and writer Moncure Conway to William Allingham complaining that Allingham is moving from London to Witley, which Conway describes as "the tomb of wit", also in the letter Conway refers to the Carlyle scandal involving Froude. Conway also saw the grand head of Carlyle. At the end of his letter Conway invites Allingham and his wife to call on him on Monday as he is having some American visitors.
