Serio-comic set of map images with caricatures of two soldiers--one French, the other German--superimposed on each map. This map set depicts the period from September 1, 1918 to October 26, 1918, when the French soldier, beginning from a position of weakness, fights back and subdues his German adversary. The Hundred Days Offensive (August 8 to November 11, 1918) was a series of Allied offensives that ended the First World War. Beginning with the Battle of Amiens (August 8-12), the Allies forced German forces to retreat to the Hindenburg Line and subsequently achieved a series of victories. The offensive--together with a revolution in Germany--led to the Armistice of November 11, 1918.
