Description
One letter from British poet Coventry Patmore to William Allingham writing regarding a shared opinion regarding the publication "The Germ." Patmore inquires about seeing Allingham's first part of his poem "The Music Master" and Patmore shares he feels comfortable in asking such a request based on Allingham's kindness. Patmore writes that the small pieces of the poem have grown on him and he is anxious to read more. Patmore also mentions a public praisal of Allingham's work, likely by George Gilfillan whom Patmore describes as a "coxcomb." Patmore also inquires whether Allingham has read Frederick Denison Maurice's book "Kingdom of Christ." Patmore shares that Tennyson is in town, and has seen him almost daily.
