Description
One letter from British poet Coventry Patmore to William Allingham regarding a previous letter sent by Allingham, which Patmore had written a hurried note to answer it but felt that it did not answer Allingham's question perfectly. Patmore mentions the style of Tennyson's poem "In Memoriam," and discusses fellow poet William Wordsworth work as a poet. Patmore also mentions the publication of a volume by Allingham. Patmore writes that his brother is leaving London to go to Westmoreland. The letter's paper is damaged and discolored, making portions of the letter intelligible.
