Description
One letter from British author and wife of Coventry Patmore, Emily Augusta Patmore to William Allingham, writing in regard to an admirer of Allingham's work who had been staying with the Patmores. Emily writes that she has been unable to procure a copy of Allingham's volume as a gift to the young lady, and inquires whether Allingham would be willing to send the permissions so that she may obtain a copy. She mentions the birth of her fourth child, and second daughter, Bertha Georgiana who is 12 weeks old. She also mentions Coventry Patmore's brother Gurney, and describes him as "...like yourself a miserable bachelor." Emily writes that Coventry has been ill, and is resting in Brighton. Emily provides Allingham will updates regarding the individuals in their social circle. Emily mentions Thomas Woolner, Tennyson, and the Rossettis.
