Description
One letter and accompanying envelope from Irish antiquarian and painter George Petrie to William Allingham informing him that he wrote to Mr. McCracken as soon as he could regarding the picture done by Deverell, possibily the artist Walter Deverell. Petrie mentions that he had forwarded McCracken's reply to Allingham. Petrie mentions that whenever it would be pleasing to Allingham, it would give Petrie great satisfaction to write a note of introduction to Mr. McCracken for Allingham. The envelope is addressed to William Allingham in Coleraine, and is post-marked Dec. 2-3, 1853.
