Description
One letter from English writer and critic William Michael Rossetti to William Allingham informing him of a project he is engaged with on the subject of Percy Bysshe Shelley, which he believes Allingham may not be aware of. Rossetti informs Allingham that he wrote in "Notes and Queries," last April and May a piece "Noes and Emendations", persuaded by "Shelleian zeal." Rossetti writes that he was approached to write a "Life," of Shelley by Mr. James Bertrand Payne on behalf of Moxon and co. Rossetti mentions that certain personal letters held by the Shelley family, who were contacted by Richard Garnett in regards to these letters. Rossetti writes that Allingham considers himself a Shelley scholar, and inquires whether Allingham would send him any materials on the subject.
