| Description | One letter from Scottish painter, poet, and member of the Pre-Raphaelites, William Bell Scott to William Allingham informing Allingham that he is still in Scotland. Scott mentions a visit by Wallis, possibly referring to artist George Wallis. During his visit Scott mentions a visit to Burns Cottage, which was the home of Scottish poet Robert Burns. Scott mentions doing some watercolors of the cottage. He also writes that he heard the editorship of Fraser's magazine changed hands, and writes that it fell into the wrong ones. Scott writes that he hears from several of his friends Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Morris, and William Michael Rossetti. In a post-script note, Scott inquires about a reference in Goethe's writings where he mentions Burns. |
