Description
One letter from Scottish painter, poet, and member of the Pre-Raphaelites, William Bell Scott to William Allingham thanking Allingham for the note, and inquiring about the location of Allingham's book "Poems," which has not yet appeared at either of Scott's homes. He also writes about the postman who delivers the mail in Scotland. Scott mentions that Mrs. Allingham is likely making good use of her time and opportunity to paint. He mentions Miss Boyd, who was his pupil and later lover, and her painting. Scott answers Allingham's inquiry about "Merry Muses," which contained works by Robert Burns. Scott writes that he has not heard of it in 20 years, but writes that it is likely to be found in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
