Description
One letter from the wife of Percy Florence Shelley, Lady Jane Shelley to William Allingham inviting Allingham to come and dine with them on Friday and stay through Sunday. She informs him that several people whom she believes he will like will also be staying. Shelley also writes that this is the last time they will be able to see him before they go to town, which she believes will be at the beginning of April. Shelley also writes that it was naughty "Floss," referring to her niece Bessie Florence Gibson, who covered the envelope with dead flies. She writes that Floss has decorated this letter with another sort of bug, referring to a pen and ink drawing of a mosquito, which decorates the top of the letter's first page. She ends her letter informing Allingham that they often eat at 7 or 8.
