One letter from Scottish artist and war correspondent, William Simpson to William Allingham reagrding an article written on Mycenae, which would include critiques on recent excavations there and the excavators. Simpson inquires about Allingham's opinions on whether the article should be critical or not. Simpson invites Allingham to call on him should he ever be nearby. Simpson mentions that he has a few articles that may be of interest to Allingham, and that he has a owl-faced vase, the only one yet brought to England.
