Description
One letter from Irish lawyer and Celtic scholar Whitley Stokes to William Allingham informing him that for the first time Allingham's letter disappointed him, as he had hoped it was news regarding Allingham but instead was regarding a lawsuit. Stokes writes that Rossetti is working on a commission for a Welsh cathedral, that Ormsby is doing well, and no news from Hannay. Stokes mentions the progress Allingham is making on his work and also mentions the publication the Athenaeum. Stokes writes that he is working on an edition of a law book. Stokes inquires whether Allingham has heard from the Brownings, and mentions the expose on Owen Meredith and George Sand's "Lavinia."
