One letter from Irish lawyer and Celtic scholar Whitley Stokes to William Allingham thanking Allingham for gifting Stokes a copy of his book "Irish Songs and Poems," which was published in 1887. Stokes expresses his deligh in seeing many of them, in particular "A Girl's Lamentation," which Stokes mentions he has long known by heart. Stokes writes that as he ages and will eventually lose his memory, it is great to have a book to refresh his memory. Stokes also mentions Allingham putting in a loving word regarding Petrie.
