Description
One letter from British architect and designer Philip Webb to William Allingham acknowledging his receipt of Allingham's letter from the 26th, which Webb writes puzzled him. Webb mentions "renewing friendly meeting at this side of the Styx," and refers to state as "purgatory in the flesh." Webb writes that it will be some time before he shall be able to come and receive Allingham's blessing and meet his youngest born. Webb believes that their reunion will not be dull. Webb uses several classical metaphors in his letter to Allingham. He also offers his regards to Mrs. Allingham, to whom he would like to be introduced.
