Description
One letter from British sculptor and poet Thomas Woolner to William Allingham acknowledging his receipt of Allingham's letter, and noting that he had not yet sent Allingham his Oliver Cromwell mask. Woolner mentions the history of the Cromwell mask. Woolner also mentions that the Brownings are in Florence, and has not heard anything from them since they left London. Woolner discusses meeting poets Alexander Smith and Sydney Dobell while in Edinburgh, and shares with Allingham their praises of his work. Woolner also offers Allingham updates on their Pre-Raphaelite acquaintances William Holman Hunt, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and his brother William Michael Rossetti. There is a note written by Allingham on the first page that states "To B. Shaw."
