Description | One letter and accompanying envelope from British sculptor and poet Thomas Woolner to William Allingham apologizing for not writing sooner as he was busy with engagements. Woolner writes that he was not commissioned to do the Wentworth statue, and does not know who was commissioned. He writes that he does not have many updates for Allingham, and mentions that Millais is in town. Woolner also mentions Hunt working on his painting of Jerusalem, as well as mentioning Patmore and Ford Madox Brown. The accompanying envelope is addressed to Allingham at Ballyshannon, and is post-marked October 27-29. 1857. |
