University of Illinois Archives records show the University Board of Trustees (BOT) report of August 10, 1961 authorized a contract for consulting architectural services with Richardson, Severns, Scheeler and Associates from Aug. 1, 1961 to July 31, 1962. University Board of Trustees report of July 18, 1962 extends the contract with that same firm to July 31, 1963. In the same Trustees report, Harland Bartholomew and Associates were contracted for long-range planning for the campus business district and long-range parking programs."
