The Flower of Salvation Verse: We’ve heard of wond’rous deeds of glory, over there, We’ve heard them told in song and story ev’rywhere, And when all is said and done it’s all over and we’ve won, Now I’ll sing the praise of one, who helped us over there. Refrain: Tho’ the roses grew on no man’s land, another flower bloomed there too, Like the red cross rose, ev’ry dough boy knows, that the flower of salvation was a beautiful creation. With little tin of coffee and a doughnut in her hand, ev’ry soldier thought this flower just the sweetest in the land, And they’re mighty glad they met her you can bet they won’t forget her, this sweet flower of salvation, that bloomed on no man’s land, Verse: They never stopped to think of danger, over there, You’ll never hear them mention stranger anywhere, Sister, brother, that’s their creed, helping those who are in need Glorying in ev’ry deed, of sunshine ev’rywhere. Refrain
