Here I Am Uncle Sammy, Take Me Verse: I heard a voice in the still of night, ‘Twas the call of Uncle Sam, He said “Come on with your force and might, For I need you now young man.” There were tears in his eyes a-streaming, As he stretch’d out his hand to me. Then I saw a smile a-beaming, As I said “Listen Sammy to me.” Refrain: “Here I am! Uncle Sammy, take me You are welcome to whatever I can do, If I needed you, you’d not forsake me And I’ve pledged my allegiance to you I have only one life I can offer And freely do I offer it to you So you’re welcome Uncle Sammy, take me I’m a soldier of the old Red, White and Blue. Verse: A soldier now of the Stars and Stripes, In his uniform of blue, Goes marching by with a tramp, tramp, tramp, Don’t you wish that this was you?
