Description | An affidavit printed on the outside of an envelope and filled in by hand, affirming Thomas Halligan's citizenship, age, residency, and military service prior to the November 8, 1864 presidential election in New York. The affidavit was completed while Halligan was stationed in Petersburg, Virginia, as a member of Company I of the 104th New York Volunteer Infantry. It was signed by John. G. Brown as witness and Seneca Warner, Jr., First Lieutenant Commander of Company E, 104th New York Volunteer Infantry. |
