Description | The George C. Marshall Research Library, Lexington, Virginia, is a "living" memorial to the late World War II Chief of Staff, a VMI graduate of 1901. As Secretary of State he established the plan for European recovery for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. Funds for construction came from private citizens and philanthropic organization throughout the country. The building houses an important museum and research center. |
