The items in the Digital Collections of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Library contain materials which represent or depict sensitive topics or were written from perspectives using outdated or biased language. Monteith Library is named for The Rev. John Monteith, who, in 1816, was the first Presbyterian minister to reach Michigan. He later became the first president of the University of Michigan. Special library features include seminar rooms, an audio-visual auditorium, faculty research carrels, and facilities for listening to recorded material and for viewing microfilmed data.
