Description
One letter from English scholar and philosopher Francis William Newman to William Allingham writing about the ignorance the young people have regarding black slavery, which Newman calls "Negro Slavery," and the dangers of it being reestablished in some way in the Pacific Islands. Newman writes that he has given a series of lectures on the subject, and wishes to inquire about adapting them into articles for Fraser's. Newton explains he would split them into three articles, one on the West Indies, and two on the American Union.
