Description
One letter from British poet Coventry Patmore to William Allingham thanking him for the kind wishes of the season, and discusses the New Year time. Patmore writes that he has reached a standstill in his poem, and he feels it will be that way for some time. Patmore writes that he sent a few lines to "Household Words." Patmore offers updates on many shared acquaintances. He writes that the Tennyson's have not yet chosen a house, but are likely to settle near Croyden. He also shares that he has not seen Mr. Clough since Allingham visited, and is unlikely to. Patmore mentions Allingham's friends the Brownings, who Patmore writes are likely to make a good show at the exhibition next year. Also that a Mr. Woolner, whom Tennyson has taken a liking to, is talking of visiting America.
