Description
One letter from British poet Coventry Patmore to William Allingham regarding a letter Patmore had received from the Editor of the North British Review, which he refers to as the North British. Patmore writes that the editor wanted him to give the Review of Alexander Smith, the Scottish poet, to another contributor to the magazine, which Patmore thinks is a friend of Smith's. He mentions that the Scotsmen are "so clannish," and now he hates them all. Patmore also mentions he had wanted to review Allingham and Smith in a periodical but was refused. The letter's paper is damaged, and some of the letter's contents are illegible.
