Description
One letter from British poet Coventry Patmore to William Allingham acknowleding his lack of response to a letter Allingham had sent him a month prior. Patmore informs Allingham the letter arrived while Patmore's wife was ill with an inflammation of the lungs, and hopes she is finally recovering. Patmore also is happy that the comments he provided Allingham were of use to him. Patmore mentions seeing an article in the Athenaeum about Smith, likely Scottish poet Alexander Smith, and guessed Allingham was involved. Patmore also mentions a man with the initials, W.B.S., likely Scottish artist William Bell Scott. Patmore also mentions again Elizabeth Barrett Browning's book "Aurora Leigh."
