One letter from English art dealer Charles Augustus Howell to William Allingham thanking him for the money, and mentions a promise of asking Tennyson something. He also informs Allingham about giving British cartoonist George Cruikshank 360 pounds for some of his works of his. Howell also informs Allingham he will be given 50 pounds a year by the Royal Academy. He also updates Allingham on shared aquaintances Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Algernon Swinburne, Edward Burne-Jones, whom he refers to as "Ned," and John Ruskin. He also asks Allingham for Tennyson's autograph, as well as a written and signed copy of Allingham's "The Maids of Elfin-Mere," to add to his collection.
