One letter from American aviator Samuel Pierpont Langley to William Allingham sharing that he has received a letter from Mr. Stillman, and several other friends sharing that the health of Mr. Carlyle is poor at the moment. Langley writes that he had been hoping for an opportunity to meet with Carlyle but is unsure if that is possible at present. He also mentions that he had asked the opinions of Conway, Professor Tyndall, and others. He is writing to Allingham with the purpose of asking Allingham's opinion in meeting with Carlyle, as well as Allingham himself.
