One letter from British artist Philip Gilbert Hamerton to Helen Allingham writing to inform Helen that before he sends her drawings to Flameng, he would be interested in seeing more of Mr. Steele's work. Hamerton mentions his periodical "The Portfolio." Hamerton offers Helen advice on her learning about etching. Hamerton suggests Mr. Brunet-Debaines at 8 Grafton Square Clapham. In a post-script, Hamerton informs Helen that he would be interested in proofs of her first attempts. The letter's paper contains a watermark for Original Stair's Mill Paper.
