Description
One letter from English painter Arthur Hughes to Helen Allingham apologizing for not thanking Helen for the recent pages sent sooner. Hughes mentions that he has been unwell recently, and is hoping for a better year. Hughes mentions the "awful wickedness," happening in the world, and informs Helen that his eldest grandson was "killed in action," six weeks prior. His other grandson is in Eygpt diverted there on his way home. Hughes writes that he is trying to work to keep his mind off the news.
