One letter from English watercolor painter Herbert Marshall to Helen Allingham thanking Helen for her letter which aided him in his proposal to the Longmans. Marshall writes that the Longmans decided not to go through with the book on London, which would would compete with the book Miss Barton is working on. Marshall sends as a gift a small scalpel.
