Description
One letter from Henry Allingham to his mother Helen Allingham, informing Helen he arrived safely in Lammermoor, and had arrived in Townsville on his birthday. He writes they met Mr. Christison at the wharf, and his luggage arrived safely, and they arrived in Prairie Monday afternoon. Henry mentions seeing several kangaroos, wild turkeys, and cockatoos. He also recounts meeting several aboriginal people. Henry writes the houses are made of logs, with corrugated iron roofs, and sparsely furnished, but contain chain-armor sprung beds. Henry sends his love to Gerald, Evey, Miss Pirie, and the girls. The letter's paper contains a watermark for Standard Linen Bank, likely a watermark for the company Golden Valley Paper Mills.
