A large portfolio book cover that contains reprints of the newspaper The Campaign Plain Dealer, which was created to support Stephen A. Douglas's presidential candidacy in 1860. Additionally, the portfolio contains 12 issues of the Railsplitter, the 1860 newspaper that supported Abraham Lincoln's campaign. The portfolio is secured by a snap to keep the loose reproductions of the newspaper contained.
