Interpretation | The Station Theater, Urbana, was built in 1923 as a railroad station for the Big Four Railroad. It was the second station built at this location. With the advent of highways and people using cars, the railroad declined. The railroad station closed in 1956, which was the same year that I-74 was started. The last passenger train stopped at the station on October 14, 1957. |
