Letter from Henry Allingham to Helen Allingham, March 12, 1904
Creator
Allingham, Henry William, 1882-1965
Date
1904-03-12
Description
One letter from Henry Allingham to his mother Helen Allingham, writing he attended a dance the previous night. Henry explains he was able to do so because the shop could spare him. He also explains he has been very productive at work, lowering the amount of time necessary to run the turret lathe. He mentions he has met a nice girl at the dance, and asked to accompany her to a play titled "A Country Girl." Henry hopes Evey is doing well following her "severe attack," and asks Helen when he should write to her. In a postscript, Henry writes he was able to do two days of drawing the previous week, and writes how gratifying it was to see men creating their own designs.
