Description
One letter from Henry Allingham to his mother Helen Allingham, two weeks since his last letter, writing last Saturday was the American Boat Race between Harvard and Cornell. Henry was invited to watch the race with Mr. Allen, editor of the Trumansburg "Sentinel." He mentions taking several people for rides on the Buckboard around Trumansburg. Henry describes getting caught in a rainstorm with the Buckboard, and an issue with the engine making it unable to return to Trumansburg. He also mentions how poor the condition of American roads are when there is rain. In a postscript, Henry writes about taking a drive with Edna. He also mentions a picnic being planned by Charlie for Madeleine's birthday. He mentions Madeleine taking the entrance exams for Bryn Mawr, and her awaiting the results.
