Description | On Front: Chatham-Effingham-Liberty Regional Library, Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates LLP. On Back: The renovation and expansion of the Bull Street Library, the largest of the Chatham-Effingham-Liberty Regional Library System, provides state-of-the-art technology with 64 public internet access workstations. New and expanded services include a children's reading room in a colorful and dynamic setting as well as public meeting rooms. A 34,000 s.f. addition, linked to the 1916 Carnegie building by a triple-height lobby, increases the size of the 200,000-volume library to 100,000 s.f. and connects it to an adjacent public park. Extensive fenestration and clerestory windows maximize natural light and views of the park. The Library, located in Savannah's Victorian district, will be formally rededicated in April. photos by Robert Baley. Postcard was never mailed. |
