Description | Shutter latch keeper. Metal bent to form right angle. One leg has two screw holes, other leg has rectangular hole (7/8" x 1/2") in center bottom. Thickly covered in cracked, light brown paint on top, sides, and bottom, except around screw hole leg. |
Interpretation | Believed to be original hardware, installed by Lincoln circa 1855. Serves double latching, as did historic Lincoln shutter hardware. |
