| Interpretation | The Buzzard's Roost Pass in the Rocky-face Ridge received its name from the fact that its vicinity was for a long time the resort of persons whose character, if they had any, was doubtful in the extreme. The Pine-top whiskey made near, was said to be the worst and cheapest that was ever made in the State of Georgia. Whiskey and bowie-knife must had done their work, for the Buzzard's Roost is as uninhabitable a locality as one can find in that very poor country, Northwestern Georgia. Barnard, George N.
