Title | Tile Silo |
Description | Marvin Hougham stands next to a tile silo built about 1920 by his father. |
Interpretation | Entire ears of corn -- husks and all -- were chopped and blown into silos. This silage was slow to catch on, although advocated by college professors. Silos provided winter feed for cattle. |
Inscription | Tile was also popular for silos. Marvin Hougham stands next to the silo built by his father about 1920. (W. Walters) |
