Title
Flat Bottom Drain Tile
Description
This drain tile was made of clay and used for drainage of fields. It has a flat bottom and is 2-4 inches in diameter.
Interpretation
Early tiles had flat bottoms and were 2-4 inches in diameter, but they soon increased in size and had rounded bottoms to help drain fields. Tiles were mass produced in local factories.
Inscription
Early drain tile was usually two to four inches in diameter and had flat dinstinctive bottoms.
